# Abuse & Legal Contact

## 1. What to report

This contact point covers the Mediaware-operated Mango IRC Network at ` irc.mangoirc.chat `. Report illegal material, threats, harassment, privacy abuse, spam, malware, network attacks, copyright infringement, account compromise, ban evasion, or another breach of the [Network Terms & Rules](https://mangoirc.chat/network/terms). For conduct on another IRC network, contact that network’s operator instead.

## 2. How to make a useful report

Email [abuse@mediaware.sk](mailto:abuse@mediaware.sk) with:

1. your name or organisation and a reply address;
2. the network location: channel or direct-message counterpart, nickname or account, and any relevant message ID;
3. the date and time in UTC, as precisely as possible;
4. a concise explanation of what happened and which network rule or law you believe applies;
5. relevant logs, links, or screenshots, with enough surrounding context to assess the report;
6. for an allegation of illegality, the country or jurisdiction and a good-faith statement that the information in the notice is accurate and complete.

A precise report helps us locate the material without collecting unrelated conversations. Please redact credentials, private keys, payment details, and irrelevant personal data.

## 3. Child-safety material and urgent danger

**Do not email or attach suspected child sexual-abuse material.** Tell us where it appeared and preserve message identifiers or non-illegal contextual evidence. Report the material directly to the appropriate national hotline or law-enforcement authority. If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, contact local emergency services first and then notify us.

## 4. Copyright notices

A copyright notice should also identify:

- the copyrighted work or an authorised example of it;
- the allegedly infringing material and where it appeared on the network;
- why the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or law;
- your authority to act for the rights holder and a good-faith statement that the notice is accurate.

## 5. What happens next

We will acknowledge electronic notices, assess them objectively and in good faith, and act without undue delay when a report is sufficiently precise and substantiated. Depending on the facts, we may request more information, preserve evidence, remove material, restrict an account or channel, or determine that no action is warranted.

Where reasonably possible and lawful, we will tell the reporter the outcome and give an affected user a reason for a restriction. We limit disclosures to protect privacy, safety, investigations, and legal obligations.

## 6. Appeals

To appeal a Mango IRC Network moderation decision, email [abuse@mediaware.sk](mailto:abuse@mediaware.sk?subject=Mango%20IRC%20Network%20appeal) with the subject “Mango IRC Network appeal”. Include the affected account, the decision or approximate date, and why you think the decision should change. A person not directly involved in the original decision will review the appeal where practical.

## 7. Authorities and official enquiries

[abuse@mediaware.sk](mailto:abuse@mediaware.sk) is Mediaware’s electronic point of contact for competent authorities concerning the Mango IRC Network. We accept communication in English and Slovak. Official requests should identify the authority, responsible officer, legal basis, scope, urgency, and secure return channel. This page does not waive any requirement for valid legal process or create consent to another jurisdiction.
