Meet us in #mango.

Mango’s community channel now lives on the Mango IRC Network. Mango connects directly; other IRC clients are welcome when they support secure WebSocket transport.

Connect with Mango

Add or select the Mango IRC network in Mango, then join #mango. If you sign in with a Mango Account, Mango handles the network credential automatically. You do not need to copy a password or token into the app.

Create your included Mango Account

Your universal Mango purchase includes Mango Account, with no additional purchase or subscription. In Mango, open Mango Account, choose Create Mango Account, and follow the system passkey setup. You can then sign in on your other devices using your passkey. The account gives you authenticated Mango IRC Network access, Mango Uploads for your files, and optional Mango Proxy fetching for supported remote content. Service terms and limits apply; Mango Proxy protects your IP address from those content destinations, not from every IRC connection.

Connect with another IRC client

Your client must support IRC over an RFC 6455 WebSocket. Enter the complete wss://irc.mangoirc.chat/webirc URL when it accepts a server URL. If it uses separate fields, use the following values:

Host
irc.mangoirc.chat
Port
443
TLS
On
Transport
WebSocket / WSS
WebSocket path
/webirc
Channel
#mango
Raw IRC is not exposed. A client limited to ordinary IRC on ports 6667 or 6697 cannot connect. Opening the WebSocket URL in a browser also does not provide a web chat; it must be used by an IRC client with WebSocket support.

Accounts and nicknames

Third-party clients can join as guests without a Mango Account. Choose an available nickname and join #mango. Mango Account authentication is currently integrated into Mango itself, so a third-party client may not be able to claim a nickname reserved by an authenticated Mango user.

Before connecting

The network is operated by Mediaware in the European Union. By connecting, you agree to the network terms and rules and acknowledge the network privacy notice. Abuse reports can be sent through the abuse contact page.
